Workshop Privacy Policy

Leiden University and LION attach great value to privacy and therefore handle all personal information with due care. A short and concise descriptio n of what data we collect and what we do with your data is set out below. To find out how this applies to you, please take notice of the different capacities in which we may process your personal information.

LION registration requires workshop applicants to provide the following personal data: name, email address and affiliation. This information is requ ired for the workshop management.

This information is also used to provide service for participants with regard to the workshop, if applicable. This information will also be shared with the worksh op organizers. LION may also use the email address to send satisfaction surveys or invitations for specific activities organized by LION. If you no longer wish to receive these emails, you can use the opt-out option by sending an email opt-out request to LION (info@strw.leidenuniv.nl). All personal information will be deleted, three months after the workshop.

 

Legal grounds of processing

All personal data is processed on the basis of a legitimate interest.

 

Your rights regarding the processing of personal data

The GDPR grants you certain rights in relation to the processing of your personal data. To exercise these rights you need to submit a request. This can be done for :

  • right to access to personal data that we process;
  • rectifying errors;
  • deleting personal data;
  • right to object to processing of personal data
  • withdrawing consent / opt-out to receive surveys or invitations for specific activities per e-mail.

Questions or complaints?

In case of complaints or questions about the processing of personal data, these can be reported to the Data Protection Officer (FG) of Leiden University: privacy@bb.leidenuniv.nl. If you do not agree with the way in which Leiden University handles your complaint, you can then lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
